Manfred Spitaler, clarinet

Manfred Spitaler, Clarinet, was born in South Tyrol, Italy, and has been living in Switzerland since 1998.
He studied the clarinet in Bozen, Italy, and in Winterthur, Switzerland. He achieved his diploma for the bass clarinet with distinction in Berne with Ernesto Molinari as his professor. Manfred Spitaler plays all the instruments of the clarinet family. He interprets classical and romantic music while his main interest is in contemporary and improvised music.
He works together with the Collegium Novum Zurich, the Ensemble for New Music Zurich, the Ensemble TaG Winterthur and the Klangforum Vienna, on a regular basis.

International appearances: Salzburger Festspiele, Lucerne-Festival, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Wien Modern, Festival Agora (Paris), Close Encounters (Georgia/Switzerland), 2days/2nights (Odessa), Week for Contemporary Music, Bukarest.
